IJEN, A SLICE OF PARADISE AT THE END OF EAST JAVA

On the border between Banyuwangi Regency and Bondowoso Regency, East Java, there is a volcano that has a natural blue fire or "Blue Fire". Blue Fire naturally has only two places in the world, in Alaska and on this mountain. This mountain is called Mount Ijen.

Mount Ijen has an altitude of 2,386 meters above sea level and is lined with Mount Raung. This mountain last erupted in 1999.

ACCESS TO THE MOUNTAIN IJEN

To climb Mount Ijen must start from paltuding, a place which is the main entrance or first post for climbers to go to Ijen Crater which is on the border of Bondowoso and Banyuwangi.

There are two ways to get there, through Bondowoso Regency or through Banyuwangi Regency.

Take a Train from Surabaya

From the Surabaya Gubeng station take the Sri Tanjung train to Jember Station, Arriving at the Jember station take public transportation to the Arjasa Jember terminal. From Arjasa terminal take public transportation to Bondowoso terminal. Arriving at Bondowoso Terminal we take an elf minibus heading to Bondowoso - sempol - kaligedang and get off at the sempol. From the sempol take an ojek to Paltuding.

From Purabaya Terminal, take a bus on the Bondowoso route. Until Bondowoso Terminal we take an elf minibus heading to Bondowoso - sempol - kaligedang down at the sempol. From the sempol take an ojek to Paltuding.

INN IN PALTUDING

There are two guesthouses owned by the Ministry of Forestry that are rented to tourists with paltuding lodging prices ranging from Rp. 100,000,000 to Rp. 300,000.00 for every night. the difference in price between the two is the difference in price for the room in the bathroom or not. THE BEST TIME TO MOUNTAIN

You can visit Mount Ijen every day. But there are the best times to visit, such as:
