PLACE AND RANU KUMBOLO LAKE LEGEND

On the slopes of Mount Semeru there is a freshwater lake that is still maintained its beauty, this lake is named Ranu Kumbolo. To get there requires walking around 3 hours to 5 hours depending on our physical fitness.

Behind the beauty there is a legend that created Ranu Kumbolo. Once there was a husband and wife who are poor. The wife is pregnant and craves eating fish. Because poor husband went to the river to fish. When fishing he got a goldfish and it turns out that goldfish is not ordinary goldfish. The goldfish can talk and want to be kept angler, without anyone knowing and give the scales that turn into gold pieces. After that the gold fish was brought to his house and put into the water barrel without his wife's knowledge. After this husband went to the market to sell gold pieces and buy fish. While at his wife's house, he felt thirsty and hungry to go to the kitchen and get water from the water barrel. While fetching water, he saw the golden fish. Because of hunger, the golden fish is cooked and eaten. When the husband came from the market he saw his wife eating fish and saw that the fish in the barrel was gone. The husband was angry and told me everything. The wife was sorry after knowing everything.

At night the husband dreams of meeting the fish. And the fish told the husband that his child who was born later would be scaly like a fish. A few months later the wife gave birth to a boy child and in accordance with the dream of her husband it turned out that his child was scaly like a fish and gave his son's name Kumbolo.

A few years later Kumbolo became a healthy and smart kid but didn't have any friends because he had scales in his body. One day he saved a catfish and it wasn't just any catfish. The catfish is a talking catfish king. The catfish thanked Kumbolo and told him that the scales on Kumbolo's body could be lost by using rainbow pearls on the peak of Mount Semeru. After that Kumbolo told his parents about it. After listening to Kumbolo's story his parents finally allowed him to look for the rainbow pearls to the top of all. Then Kumbolo went to the top of Mount Semeru.

On the way, many obstacles get in the way, but Kumbolo can handle it until he reaches the top. Arriving at the top he managed to get a rainbow of pearls. After getting the rainbow pearl he went straight home. On the way home he was stopped by a group of criminals who wanted the pearl. When the villain asked for the pearl, Kumbolo refused and a fight ensued. When the battle of pearls fell to the ground. Suddenly - the land broke and drew large water and submerged them. The group of criminals died while the kumbolo because they could breathe in water like fish, could swim to the edge. After successfully being lonely, the scales miraculously disappeared. And the lake is called Ranu Kumbolo. Ranu means lake.

PREPARATION TO RANU KUMBOLO LAKE

To go to Ranu Kumbolo you must first book online HERE. 7days before departure. And prepare the conditions required in the climb.

Each ascent minimum in groups of 3 people, if less than 3 people have joined another group. on condition that other groups want to accept it.
Minimum age 10 years, age 10 to less than 17 years must include a letter of permission signed by their parents above stamp Rp. 6000 by completing the parent / guardian ID, family card and birth certificate.
Bring a file that must be carried: Health certificate (the day before climbing the manufacture) proof of transfer, printed evidence, statement letter, list of equipment and supplies as well as a photocopy of an official identity (KTP / Student Card / KTM / SIM / Passport) which is still valid
Bring mandatory climbing equipment: waterproof tents, backpacks, mattresses, office sleeping, gloves, t-shirts, shoes, raincoats, flashlights and batteries, logistical supplies, personal medicines, and it is recommended to bring a tracking pole and safety helmet for climbing .
